This is an amazing mid-century Harrison McIntosh Studio Pottery Bowl, out of Claremont, CA. Signed on the bottom “McIntosh 411”. According to The Marks Project - this McIntosh signature was used during the 1950s. UPDATE: I was contacted on 12-4-19 by Catherine McIntosh, Harrison McIntosh’s daughter, who wrote: Harrison started doing ceramics in the early 1940s in the garage of his parents’ Neutra designed home in Los Angeles after studying with Glen Lukens at USC. These pieces ...were all cast and fired in a small gas kiln. Many of these were sold in the break room of Disney Studios.The bowl measures 9 1/4” in diameter across the top and stands approximately 2” tall. The color is a deep brown with varying tans and golds in the raised circular motif. There is no damage - zero. No chips, no cracks, no dings, no crazing. Condition is Used. Shipped, double boxed with USPS Priority Mail.
