For sale here is a $1 and a $2 Series 1896 Educational Silver Certificate in nice circulated condition. The $1 us a no problem VG I would say whereas the $2 is quite a bit higher in grade, probably a VF in terms of wear and paper body. However it was likely kept in a picture frame for a long time, since the edges are toned and possibly trimmed a little. The centerfold is recently starting to split and needs to be reinforced somehow. Having said that, the $2 is a very nice looking note ...of a very scarce and popular type, so it should be prized for the rarity that it is.
