This is a very good looking example of an antique 8 Day HEBDOMAS Open face Pocket WatchHebdomas 8 Days, appears on the very attractive Face that has decoration and raised Arabic Numerals , with blued metal Hands and a visible escapement, The 100 years old Swiss Made 8 Day lever movement, is Crown wound and pin set. Due to its age, we were reluctant to fully wind it, but the part wind that we did, was "Gritty". nevertheless it did run strongly for 4 days, keeping t...ime. We would suggest that the winding mechanism requires lubrication, or refurb.The Hebdomas Pocket Watch won much acclaim when it was first released back in 1910-1920 for its 8 Day running ability, this is depicted with the medals embossed to the main spring barrelThe very attractive gold plated Case is in lovely condition, catch and hinge operating correctly, with an engine turned pattern embossed to the Back, and a vacant central cartouche, suitable for for initials. It measures 2.020 inches diameter (51.5mm dia) approx. excluding the Crown & LoopA real eye catcher!
