Up for sale is the coveted 1869 "Rainbow" $1 Legal Tender. This is one of the most collected and desirable series in large size notes due to the single year unique coloring. It is the Fr 18 with Allison-Spinner signatures. The note grades a very eye appealing F/VF in my opinion. Still has great body to the paper and this note has about the strongest remaining rainbow color of any of these I have had. The blues, greens, and reds are all nice and bold. I would have been tempted to call i...t a solid VF-20 but it does have some top edge roughness, a few pinholes, and a small edge tear from top typical of these very early banknotes. None of the issues are very noticeable and do not detract from the eye appeal of this colorful note in my opinion. Please check scans and judge grade for yourself.
