  This is a wonderful antique wooden hanging box made to store candles, brushes, or perhaps even sewing supplies. Although very simple in its design it does have a decorative scalloped edging that adds extra charm and character. It appears that this was made by using an old packing crate. The back is stamped with "Dupont Ra....Use No Ho.." (See pics). It was common for people to reuse crates and boxes to make many household items. This wall piece was made more special with an angl...ed front to the box portion and the decorative scalloped edges of the back. It retains an old paint that is between cream and a light mustard with hints of robin's egg blue underneath.
  A delightful folky addition to any decor or use!
  It measures 11" W x 9"T x 2 3/8"D. The thickness of the backboard is ~5/16"D. The box interior dimensions is roughly 8 "W x ~2" D.
