Vintage original 1924 silent movie theater souvenir program for The Iron Horse. Premiered by the Fox Film Corporation on August 28, 1924, this Western drama was directed by the great John Ford and starred George O'Brien and Madge Bellamy. Copyright, 1924, By William Fox.
Program measures 9 x 12 inches and numbers 22 pages. Made of glossy, slick, thicker magazine-type paper this is the more elaborate souvenir program – as opposed to the "cheapie" given out at theaters �...� one could purchase only in theaters. The price back then was a "hefty" 25 cents. Printed by The Gordon Press, Inc., 344-348 West 38th Street, New York.
Beautiful, fully illustrated program with blazing color front/back covers packed with information about the movie, its director and players. Features superb painting centerfold.
Program is remarkably preserved, in excellent+-near mint condition. The only wear is at several corners. The first one I've seen.
Provenance: From an old estate auction which also featured vintage art deco, jewelry, lamps, lighters, paintings, maps and other items from the 1920s and '30s.
