Antique 1860s Framed Silk Embroidery Swan/Cygnets In Aesthetic Movement Frame

American antique, circa 1840-60s, hand-embroidered swan and cygnets in reeds, done in silk chenille thread on a brown silk velvet background. Cylinder blown glass sheet with bubbles; redwood and plaster gold-painted frame decorated in bark, tree knots and vines. Redwood box backing and original cotton-wrapped wire delicately holds this together. Very nice example of what was probably a young woman's training in household arts, framed for family or gift. Some silk fibers on inside of gl...ass. Unsigned as far as I can tell. It has been professionally appraised at a value of between $300-$600. This measures 18.5" x 17.25" x 3" and weighs about 4lbs..
