Offered here is a good quality French, Napoleon III gilt bronze figural mantel clock by Raingo Freres, Paris, third quarter 19th century.Having a circular white enamel dial inscribed RAINGO FRES A PARIS, with Roman hours and Arabic minutes, the case stamped BEAUJEAN, having a twin train movement with outside countwheel striking on a bell, the backplate with Raingo Freres pastille, the case and backplate both numbered 5163. height 15 1/4in (38.5cm); width 18 1/2in (47cm); depth 7 1/2in ...(19cm)Overall good used condition, original movement with case. Mild wear and toning to gilt bronze, loss of patination to the flora the figure is resting on. The hour hand is replaced, a small chip loss to the enamel dial at the right wind hole. The clock bezel is lacking its convex glass to the front.
