Title:Antique CrockDescription:Presented for your consideration is this nice antique crock. The stoneware crock features a chicken pecking corn on the front done in cobalt blue. The chicken is standing with its butt in the air and pecking at corn on the ground. Nice detailing is displayed in the design. Above the chicken it is marked with "2", indicating the size of the crock. Above the number it is marked with "Brady & Ryan Ellenville, NY" in faint impressed lettering. At the left... and right sides there are small molded handles. Interior of the crock is a dark brown color. Finished with a smooth glaze. Originally was used to ferment, pickle or store foods. This neat crock would make a great addition to any stoneware or crock collection!
The crock was professionally restored at one point. Two brown stains are on the bottom edge and three small surface chips are in the inner top rim. Bottom of the crock has two impressed lines, looks to be a flaw in the manufacturing. Typical wear from age and use. Overall in VERY GOOD condition. Measures 9 3/4" in diameter excluding the handles, 10 1/4" in diameter including the handles, and 9 1/4" tall.
