HERE WE HAVE: An antique, stoneware crock jug! Cobalt blue marking commonly known as "bee sting", "target marked", or "lazy eight"; it has a very clear mark that looks just like a bee. Marked with a number 5, so I'm assuming it is a 5 gallon capaci...ty. It has several "turkey droppings" from when it was glazed. There's no stopper for the opening on top of the jug. CONDITION: Good condition for age. As noted in description, there are glaze droppings around the piece. One small crack at the bottom edge that wraps around the bottom as well, I put some water inside the crock and none of it leaked through this crack, so it doesn't seem to go through the whole wall. There's typical production flaws to the stoneware from production. There are scuffs and scratches from age and use. Some small spots of white paint splatters. Please see photos!
MEASUREMENTS: Whole piece measures approximately 18" tall and had a diameter of about 11" at widest points.
