RARE Antique 1885 Cast Sherwin Williams Paint Chameleon Collectible Advertising

This is an Antique classic piece of Americana. This is a rare collectible Sherwin-Williams desktop paperweight. The chameleon was used as the Sherwin Williams logo from 1885 to 1905. Printed around the bottom edge is: "The Sherwin-Williams Co. Paint and Color Makers Cleveland, Chicago, New York, Montreal, Boston." This is an Antique metal promotional paperweight of a Chameleon standing on an artist’s pallet.The piece was made with a brass tone and some of that has worn off but he sti...ll has a wonderful Patina to him regardless! This unusual advertising figural item would look marvelous on anyones desk at the office. At some point someone has replaced the felt on the bottom.
Company founder Henry Sherwin developed the Chameleon trademark logo character in 1885. The little guy was left behind by the company in 1905 after their new logo was designed, the familiar painted globe, “Cover the Earth” logo. I could only find two others like this and they were damaged in some way and sold on Worth Point in 2013 and 2014.
