DESCRIPTION:This listing is for a beautiful Ladies enameled and gilt, open face pendant /pocket watch. This lovely watch is made of a gold-tone metal and gilt with 18k yellow gold. It features rich royal blue enamel accented by gilt foliage decoration. The inside of the back cover is stamped "Duplain & Hotz, the retailer. Dates to the early 1960'sDETAILS:A round silvered dial with roman hours in blue circul...ar cartouche form, steel 'antique Breguet' hands and the dial marked, 'Michel, 17 jewels, Incabloc'. A faceted crystal overlies the dial and is often seen as Swiss made from the 1960's.The movement is a brushed nickel plate movement with 17 jewels, unadjusted, Swiss made and signed SEMAG. The Semag Watch SA, owned originally by Weber Chopard, was renamed in 1966 and listed in Bienne, Switzerland. The business originated circa 1920 and specialized in small ladies lever watches with small round movements.The A. Michel Watch Company was found circa 1919 in Grenchen, Switzerland. They made wrist and pocket watches, often using movements made by other Swiss companies. They also made movements for the trade. In 1925 they were on of 26 Swiss companies to form ebauches, SA makers of watch movements for the watch trade. By 1958 this watch company was using Felsa movements for their watches. In the 1960s they apparently used companies such as SEMAG to supply movements also.MEASUREMENTS:Case measured 7/8" in diameter, 1 1/4" long and approximately 5/8" deep.CONDITION:Very good overall condition. Movement is clean and working, keeping near perfect time. There is a tiny area of missing enamel on the back, as well as some fine scratches. There are no repairs. Being sold "as is" This watch will be shipped as a running movement with no mechanical issues, but I cannot guarantee it will remain as such due to the age and previous use.
