Doane Machine Age Art Deco sight light brass table lampIconic Model # SL5 Luminaire designed by Doane for the Sight Light Corp, NY.Impressed signature and Sight Light decal under weighted base.Good condition , working switch , has some oxidation...pitting in base as seen, couple light dings on shade as seen in picture, overall nice. L.C. Doane was an American indirect lighting Pioneer, having designed the "infamous" Pagoda lamps alternately attributed to Von Nessen &...amp; KEM Weber for Miller Lamp Co.This particular lamp design, circa 1935-1936, was actually patented in both the US & Canada by Doane. Model # SL-5, serial # 30975, for the sight light corp. Don't confuse this lamp with other models on eBay with sheet metal bases , this lamp has a solid heavy base. This version in very nice original condition.Shade clips onto support frame, which is attached to an inner aluminum reflecting insert, which rests inside a removable brass trumpet inside the shaft. Aluminum reflecting plate under white enameled inner shade with brass flat finial.
