Antique John Bell Waynesboro Pa redware glazed pottery that is a stove lift.Stove lifts were placed under each foot of a cast iron stove, to raise it off the floor, which is why it has significant chipping. Thanks Joe, an ebayer that gave me the info asa I listed this fabulous piece.Yes, I love anything that is John Bell because it is a local piece and because it is signed.I love the beautiful glaze, the photos show it well.Well signed and substantial , not a little ch...unk, it weighs almost 3 pounds before packed.It is 6 inches diameter on the bottom and 4 inches tall.Yes, it has chips and chunks, but oh my, such a fabulous piece. Its the kind of piece that Renfrew Museum, Waynesboro Pa would enjoy to display, hint hint :-) Offered as is, no reserve.I think it is a seldom seen piece of John Bell.Remember, its broke, that's why I have Renfrew mentioned, they have broke pieces of John Bell and understand the treasure a piece such as this item is.
