May I offer:Now here's the story -
Back in February of this year, before COVID broke, I was invited to v...iew an estate sale in St Louis. The estate was an accumulation of materials that dated right back to the Victorian era - it was a one family home with no children - but the husband and wife collected just about everything. A lot of items were still in their original packages - never having been used. I bought what I could at the time and now, with Halloween around the corner, I wish I had been able to buy more. So, from the estate may I offer this item....A Halloween banner - garland featuring Jack o Lantern faces - pumpkin faces - various grins/grimaces. There are 11 face panels with 6 different expressions - I know for sure that 2 face panels are missing as they fell off the piece when I got it home. The graphics are one sided and the garland ends in two rectangles that are marked MADE IN USA AM. The original string is still present as are all the metal joinders.
Condition for its age is quite good though there is some gouged paper missing at one end - some light creases and actual breaks near some of the joins - one staple mark in one panel and one pinprick in another panel. That's it.
Length is 4-1/2' in total.
In talking with the foremost authority on vintage Halloween, Mark Ledenbach, he tells me that Beistle did use the Made in USA AM mark so the garland is possibly by that company. In any event, the garland is cool and DEFINITELY the real deal and NOT a reproduction.
