A c1870's - 1880's painted plaster cast of a profile portrait of Savonarola by the MA and RI sculptor Charles Hazeltine. Hazeltine is known to have worked in New Bedford, MA and in Providence RI creating plaster cast sculptures. This example is scratched signed and noted Prov. R.I. The sculpture measures approx. 14in. in diameter with a depth of approx. 1 1/2in. and has an aged, painted surface with some small scattered paint losses.
