This is a Vintage Pioneer SX-D7000 120 watt per channel receiver that I purchased some years ago as part of a large lot of Audio equipment from an estate sale of an area Audiophile. He had many items that I think he was going to repair. This high powered receiver was originally introduced in 1980 by pioneer and is considered to be a very desirable model due to it's power and looks. It originally retailed for $800.00 and currently sells for $500.00 to $1, 200.00 depending on the conditi...on. This one has some cosmetic issues in the walnut side panels and the steel case. The silver face is really pretty good as well as the clear display panels. The 2 slider knobs for the base and treble are missing but all other knobs and buttons are in pretty good shape. The main issue is that some liquid was spilled thru the vented top and there is a large area of residue inside that has affected some of the receivers function. The left display panel looks to be working fine and all lights and function are working (as determined by simply plugging it in and connecting it to a turntable and speakers). The lights responded to the buttons and volume control and I was able to hear (or see) the difference when activating filter, base, treble, muting, loudness, light dimming, tape monitor, speaker, phono, and balance controls. The right side display panel isn't working although I was able to receive 8 or 9 FM stations using the digital tuner (sound only, no lights. In my basement with small bow tie antenna). I only got static on the AM setting. The digital tuner did function and stopped at the next strongest station when pressed for up or down the tuner. I am selling this as is for parts but wanted to give the best description I could for you to judge whether it could be repaired (see the photos for best indication of condition). No professional service or testing was done and my description is only my observation of what I saw and heard when I powered it up and hooked it to a turntable, stereo speakers, and small FM antenna. This should be purchased by someone who has knowledge of vintage receiver repair.
