Offered for sale is this alabaster viewer originally sold as a souvenir for the opening of the Thames Tunnel. When looking through the viewer a scene of the tunnel is visible with the statement. "1200 feet long 16 feet below high water mark, was 8 years building and cost £446, 000, opened the 25th day of March 1843". The floral painting on the outside does have some wear, but the alabaster is in very good condition with no chips or cracks. 3 7/8" tall, 2 5.../8" diameter.
