Antique Folk Art Hand Primitive Wood Wife Fish Fishwife Merchant Art Figure.
I believe this item is wood, reminds me of the statue in Portugal of the fishwives. With a fish in each hand it tells the story of the merchant lass. There is some damage to her feet but is hidden pretty nicely with her apron and just adds a more rustic feel to the story. Very old maybe 18th or early 19th century.
