Rare 1920s Bisque Bride and Groom Wedding Cake Topper.
This is a fantastic piece featuring the best bisque bride and groom. Bride with her flapper (drop-waisted dress), and sweet foil tiara.
They stand on a 4-tiered platform. Fabric and foil leaves surround the FABULOUS Gothic Arch Door/Window.
This stands 5 1/4" tall, to the top of the arched window. 5 3/4" tall to the top of the fabric leaves. It is 6" wide (with the flowers and leaves positioned as they ar...e).
The base measures 2" by 3 1/4."
I have not done any detailed cleaning to any part of the topper. I think that the bisque dolls could use a spit bath for little pieces of dust. They look great upon normal view, as they are, and I will leave that up to the new owner. Normal wear for age. Her yellow flowers are a little faded.
I have taken several photographs. It is in very good antique condition. It is cleaner than most, with not much age toning at all. I looked this over with a jeweler's loupe. Looking very closely under a loupe can be seen two faint 1/4" long hairlines. across portions of the columns:
Columns run up each side of the gothic arch door/window - a bottom (long door section), then a small middle area. The arched window is above that.
The two 1/4" hairlines are located just above the long door section of the column - on either side, in the bottom area of the smaller column section.
I think with normal good care, nothing should happen. Also, as you can see in the photographs, the back side was made with the structural bracing going up vertically. The hairlines are below that height on the front side. It will also be packed well.
I hope that wasn't too confusing.
This is an exquisite cake topper. And a great addition to any collection. It would be superb under a dome.
Shipping in the United States will be Free.
