Vintage Parts 1 Auto Knitter CSM Circular Sock Machine My Dad found an auto knitter on a stand back in 1990 (also auctioned separately) in an antiquestore, and the auto knitter was not usable, but he knew I wanted a stand for myAuto knitter CSM, so he got it for me. My husband disassembled the auto knitter andkept the parts that were good or usable. I am auctioning these parts in two separate bundles since I auctioned myAuto Knitter last week. This is Bundl...eone, see details for what it includes. The cost of shipping would have been too expensive to auction all theparts as one bundle. These Auto Knitter Circular Sock Knitting Machine Parts arein good to fair condition for an antique with the normal marks of age anduse. See the details for the parts thathave rust and still usable and the parts that are in very good condition or thequestionable parts that need work. Theauto knitter book was copyright 1920, so these are probably over 100 years old. Since I am getting into the retirement mode, it is time forme to start to part with my equipment, books, etc. so someone else can get thejoy out of it that I have. I just soldmy auto knitter in an auction last week so have no need for these parts. Please look at all the photos of the parts along with thedescription details below. 1. Bed Platepart A in auto knitter book: also see photo upside down, good condition
2. YarnStand Top part L in auto knitter book: rust on springs, but should be able tobe cleaned up and usable
3. Cylinderspring: look closely has one spot where there is rust or something, so don’tknow if soaking will make it useable, but wanted to include just in case it is usable
4. Weight holder with 1 weight, worn but totallyusable
5. Tension V cam with 2 screws green very usable
6. Set up comb, has rust spots but no broken partsso also usable
7. Auto Knitter book 16 edition copy write 1920, very dilapidated but I did not want to throw it away.
8. Cam Shell, part D in auto knitter book, lookclosely at the two photos inside and out which shows a fine crack where the Vcam is, notice the V cam has the tipsbroke off which is why I included the good V cam (#5 above as areplacement). I believe this cam shellcould be a fine beading of welding on that crack which would then make this avery good piece. (many years back I hadmy husband’s airplane welder weld pieces on my Legare Sock machine to make ituseable. Also notice this cam shell hastwo good upthrow cams left and right. Soeven if the cam shell is determined that the auction winner doesn’t want torepair the upthrow cams are valuable.
9. The top to an auto knitter stand (this actuallywas in the box of my personal auto knitter) notice that something is in one side of the needle holder bins, almostlike when it was made, they didn’t get all the form out, but looking at thephoto of underside, you can see that you can make your own legs and this wouldwork great to mount an auto knitter on it. Before, I got my stand, I used the 3 legs off one of my flat bed linkersto make this a useable stand.
