Beeman / Webley & Scott Hurricane .177 Pellet Air Pistol, Vintage England
This is a Webley & Scott Hurricane target pistol, imported to the US and branded by Beeman. The pistol was manufactured in England sometime between 1977-2005; It says Beeman, San Rafael, so I suspect it’s closer to an mid 80’s vintage. SN: 013060
I recently cleaned and serviced it with seals cleaned, sear and trigger polished and a lighter trigger spring installed, this is a great target m...odel. It’s a single stroke springer with rearward recoil. Springers are generally hold/grip sensitive, but this one seems less sensitive than most and with a light hold it shoots nice.
On a 15 shot velocity test, the average was 456 fps with a standard deviation of 6.8 using H&N Excite ECON 7.5gn .177 pellets (partial tin of about 90 included along with another partial random tin)
The finish is clean but the letterings white ink has mostly warn off. The butt has a couple tapped holes where someone probably attached a stock at some time.
Also included is a custom fitted case and the original scope rail that can be installed in place of the rear sight to use a scope.
