It's a grand, regal dining set that stretches to almost 9 1/2 feet when all expansion leaves are installed. Installation and removal of the leaves is straightforward and pretty much idiot-proof (verified personally).
The structural condition of the table is excellent, but the finish has some issues that may or may not qualify as "appropriate for its age." I encourage you to share the photos with an antique furniture expert. As this is a no-returns auction, I've tried to capture the most grievous examples of wear and tear with photographs. If none of these frighten you, then the rest of the set should present no surprises.
The seat fabric is a playful crosshatch pattern - a bit less formal than is typical of these dining sets. I've seen some spare fabric around and will share it freely if it turns up again.
IMPORTANT: This auction is part of an estate liquidation. As such, all items must be retrieved from the property within seven days of auction close and may not be returned. I apologize for this inflexibility, but the associated home is under contract and must be cleared. My schedule is very flexible, so if you must retrieve the items during work hours or after hours, I can almost certainly accommodate you.
Thank you for looking and for helping me to liquidate my parents' estate. COVID hasn't made this any easier. Good luck and good health!
UPDATE: I'm supplying additional high-resolution photos of the chairs, as requested. Each of the eight chairs appears with a full shot, followed by one or more close-ups of the chair's gravest blemishes. While each chair certainly has other blemishes, they were comparatively insignificant and failed to catch my eye. I hope this is helpful in determining the quality and expectations of the dining set.
