More from an amazing estate.....Antique French TOILE de JOUY large pieced textile. Cream and mulberry toned toile mid weight fabric in charming country scenes. Purchased about 30 years ago from an antique store in Anacortes, WA who picked it up on one of their biannual buying trips to Europe. Estimated to be from the late 1800’s, from France and probably a cotton/linen combo but unsure of exact fiber content. This was originally probably pieced together as a bedcover but makes a darl...ing closet drape or wall hanging. Some of the stitching looks machine made but others definitely look hand stitched. There are some faded parts due to age and some wear as well...I see one hole. There may be more but I can’t see them. See all pics!
Overall measurements are 83” wide at widest part and 77” wide and shortest width. And 83.25” long at longest length and 81” long at shortest length.
