ANTIQUE Prim Nutty Brown LARGE PA STRAW RYE Coiled HANDWOVEN BASKET Folk Art #2 This is a very nice large rye basket. It is nicely made and has nice great aged patina - from the mid to late 1800s or possibly very early 1900s. The shape and size is nice and a very nice example of this type of basket- most are found with a lot of loss and wear as they had good use. The basket is made of rye straw and has splint wrappings. Basket has a good original surface with some minor l...oss of splint wrappers and some minor wear and minor loss of the rye straw. See all photos for your review of condition. Has a very good primitive country look. The basket measures approx 3.5" tall (hard to measure) and approx 12.25" diam at top to outer edges and approx 7.75 diam " at base. This will make a very good addition to your Antique Basket Collection .
