Original Description:
This is a very old and quite large basket that was woven together with wood straps and covered with leather
The round basket has 4 extensions that meet over its top to serve as a handle. Each extension is wrapped with leather.
Much of the leather on the basket has become brittle and some has fallen off
The basket is about 18" high to the top of the handle. Just the basket part is about 9" high and 12" wide measuring the inside dimensions. 
Other than much of the leathe...r being off the basket is very sturdy and in otherwise very good condition
We've been told it was native made many years ago in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan
