The birds beak holds materialSolid Brass Embossed - SewingBird The fabric looks to be velvet covering the pin cushion andthe thumb screw works properlyEverything works well. There is good spring tension that holdstight - allowing fabric to be held securely in the bird’s beakThe cloth on the pin cushion is the same as on the top of theturn screw, both appear to be original and the don’t show much use.....NOTE: a magnet does not stick anywhere except the spring under thetail (the spring steel is the only metal part) the rest is brass whichshows some patina but overall the rest is bright old brass surface like the day it was madeA very nice example!
