A fine vintage 1960s-1970s German made souvenir stein for Brown University. This stein is stamped Kamp & Ferdinand to the base with sticker and was probably made from designs purchased from by Eric P Mihan, as it is nearly identical to the glazed version made by Mihan in 1952. the 9 inch stein is divided into 3 panels typical of Mihan, with seal, Van Wickle Gate, and mascot, the Brown bear. Unlike Mihan steins, this example is unglazed and bears nice brown bands of color.... Bears a pewter lid good shape, not loose like many Mihan steins. Excellent shape, this is the 2nd one I have seen in the past decade. A rare one, but I doubt any Mihans were made in a production of greater than 50 or 100.
