I have for sale an early (serial number 15856)  D. W. Bruntons compass manufactured by WM Ainsworth and Sons out of Denver Colorado I believe these were used by surveyors and of course hikers could use it too.  Click on and enlarge the third picture which shows the back side of the compass to see the details of the manufacturing and trademarks.
The compass comes with the carrying case ...the case is made out of a durable thick plastic material.  I'm not sure if i...t's the original case for the compass... but the case fits the compass well.

Everything appears to work fine on the compass.
