Original antique Victorian mechanical door bell crank on round back plate in decorative cast brass, circa 1890. This crank mounted on the outside of an exterior door and connected directly into a variety of mechanical bells offered at the time. The bell of choice mounted directly opposite on the inside of the door and the crank was connected via the square shaft extending from the back of the crank. A porcelain knob is mounted on the end of the crank and measures 1 1/8..." diameter and extends about 3/4". Round back plate measures 2" diameter Handle is about 3". Square connector has a 2 3/4" extension and is 1/4" square. Bell crank is in good condition with no damage other than the expected light crazing on the porcelain knob.
