This book is 11x9, hardcover, 178 pages, with its dustjacket (which has a couple of tears) The interior is intact and clean and complete. The book is famous for combining the history of the NYC volunteer companies with the actual history of the City itself. Profusely illustrated. As a history buff one of the things I enjoyed was its illustrated maps showing where in the present (1952) the old locations had become. The author, Kenneth Dunshee, curated the old fire museum of the Home Insur...ance Company which later formed the basis for the current New York City Fire Museum. The book was deemed to be such an informative history that every member entering the FDNY was given a copy upon completion of their training. Not particularly rare, but very desirable as a colorful history of the bygone volunteer days.I pay the shipping Thanks for your interest.BONUS: I WILL INCLUDE THE OFFICIALPROGRAM FOR ‘THE MIDNIGHT ALARM.’ THAT WAS A SHOW IN NYC MADISON SQUARE GARDENON NOV.23, 1935 PERFORMED BY THE FDNY.THE PRINTED PROGRAM IS 16 PAGES OFINFORMATION ABOUT THE FDNY.
