A French Art Deco mottled multi coloured marble, onyx and black slate cased 8 day timepiece. the movement faced by a button dial and a convex glass. The movement is made by Marti and is at present overwound so will need freeing off and servicing, it's also missing the brass knob to the hands adjuster. In nice condition but has a few chips to the slate ( a very brittle stone ), mostly on the corners but doesn't spoil the look of the piece. Has some dust behind the glass which may be tri...cky to clean. It measures approx 17" (43cm) long and is approx 4" (10cm) wide and stands approx 10" (25.5cm) tall. A heavy beast, weighing 8.975kg. Overall a striking timepiece, shouting Art Deco and would make a fine ornament even if not working!
