I found this amazing lamp at a garage sale some time ago. It makes an awesome display and conversation piece. There are no markings on him, but he is old for sure; I would say from the late 1970s to early 1980s. I have researched this lamp for years and have never seen one like it nor been able to find any information about it. I am assuming it is either a prototype, fan-made or bootleg item but who knows. Regardless the lamp really stands out when on display. The main lamp does work, ...there is also a second lamp inside that will light up C-3PO's eyes. I have not tested the inside light in a very long time but I am sure it still works. The buyer might want to rewire the lamp anyway as the wires are original and I would not trust leaving them plugged in unattended. He measures approximately 13.5" tall (without lamp shade mount), 10.5" wide and 8" in depth as is cast in ceramic. There are a few nicks here and there as expected with an item of this age, personally, I think it just adds to his character. I am moving and need to downsize much of my collection. I really hope that someone will enjoy him as much as I have. If you are viewing this and do have additional information about him, I would love to hear from you as I have always been curious about the history of this lamp. I said I would never part with him but times do change....I would much rather someone else enjoy him rather than me stick him in a box in storage.
