VINTAGE 60's Westinghouse Lumina Convertible Desk Radio LampPortions of this model line were used in the original Star Trek episodes!
This was the Holy Grail of a collector friend of ours that had a vintage transistor radio collection. He has since passed away, and we think it's time for someone new to enjoy this very cool and amazing piece. It deserves to be in a serious collection or even a museum!
Overall, this is in very good condition. There are a few d...efects and minor scratches (shown in the worst possible lighting conditions) and there is some minor yellowing of the exposed plastic portions. There is some spotting on the metal grill material on the base that can really only be seen if the light is just right. You can see a little bit of it in the photo with the light on and in one other photo, but it's very difficult to see.
Looking for the ultimate Eames Era Space Age retro-modern relic? This is IT! Portions of this series of products were used in various Star Trek episodes for different functions. What a fun thing to have!
The radio initially did not work, but our technician replaced all of the electrolytic capacitors in both it and the base with good, modern parts, and everything works great now. We're including two bulbs for the lamp. You get the base lamp, the radio and two bulbs (not shown).
This item will be carefully packed and sent insured with a signature required. This adds significant cost to shipping, but is required on something like this. You want this to arrive intact and so do we! As with all vintage items, this is sold as is and as shown. What you see is what you get.
