Joanies is very excited to present a great Three Session No Reserve Estate Auction! This sale includes a wide variety of fine antique and collectables spanning over several different categories. Day one of this estate auction also includes an important collection of Ming and Song ceramics from the ...professor Peter Greiner collection, and also from the scholarly collection of the late Mr. Pao of Toronto. We have offered items from the Pao collection before that brought some great interest. Mr. Pao was well respected as a very knowledgeable scholarly collector. Mr. Pao also headed a high end Asian arts gallery within the Four Seasons hotel in Toronto for many years that closed down around 20 years ago now. A great opportunity to acquire several rarely found and unique examples.

Up for auction is a LARGE PAIR c1880 CHINESE FAMILLE ROSE & BLUE ENAMEL PRECIOUS OBJECTS VASES. A very fine pair dating to the c1870-1880 period. The vases are finely and intricately detailed with vibrant and rich famille rose and blue enamel features. The vases have a nice faceted form with great lion mask ring side handles. The vases have nicely detailed precious objects paneled landscapes that are finished in mirror-image indicating the vases are an original pair.
Condition: Estate-fresh with shallow chip to top rim of one other minor glaze imperfections consistent with antique age. Overall substantially fine as seen with no cracks and no repairs. The vases sit nice and straight. UV light reveals no hidden damage. A really nice pair overall.
