Original Description:
This is a large hinged lid papier mache box with a red lacquered interior, possibly used as a table snuff box.  The exterior is black lacquered with a gilded chinoiserie scene showing three figures watching as a child tries to roll a large rock. There is a bridge, buildings, river and mountains in the background. One figure appears to be carrying a folded umbrella, another holds a fan and the third has a walking stick.  The faces and hands of each figure are enamelled. &...nbsp; Condition:It is in very good condition with no cracks or restoration.   The box measures approx. 90 mm (3 1/2”) long x 60 mm (2 1/2”) wide x 27 mm(1”) high.
