Joanies is very excited to be offering a large four-day important family estate collection. This prominent family of Doctors resided in China between 1890-1960 and during this time acquired a vast array of rare and important objects that have never been offered until now. This includes a vast array of Asia...n art examples, fine jades, snuff bottles, bronzes, porcelain, important Archaic works, and more.
A number of the items being offered were scheduled to be sent to New Yorks’s high end auctions, but due to large sale delays this year the estate had asked us to offer All the items. A great and rare opportunity to acquire some investment-grade examples.
Over the past 20 years Joanies has hosted Hundreds of estate auctions, auctioning upwards of a hundred thousand fine estate items during this time. Up for auction is a VERY FINE ANTIQUE JAPANESE MEIJI SOLID BRONZE SCHOLAR IMMORTAL FIGURE OKIMONO. Part of an important estate collection being offered this week that includes several fine Japanese art examples.
A fine antique Japanese solid bronze figure. The figure is finely detailed with a rich bronze patina. We believe the figure would date from the Meiji period.
Condition: Estate-fresh the figures hat appears to have old small chip repair or imperfection as seen. The figure may have bene originally caring something. The figure is otherwise in substantially fine condition.
Size: The figure is a nice larger size to display measuring 12 3/4 inches tall by 3 1/2 inches wide at the base. The figure has a quality solid bronze weight of 2220 grams, or 4.89 pounds.
