My Dad was stationed in China during WWII. He purchased this while there. This panel is amazing, the first three pictures are from the front and the next pictures are from the back side. I thought it was a double-sided embroidery but I'm not sure . What I call the front side is shiny and the other side is dull. I think it could be viewed from either side and no one would notice the difference. It is not finished around th...e edges so could be put in a frame or used as a screen, but other than the edges, it is in excellent shape. It's been sitting in a box for the last 70 years. I didn't try to get any wrinkles out for fear of ruining it. It is 54" X 68" so it's a good size. You can see in the pictures it is two pieces of silk sewn together and then embroidered. Sorry about the pictures, the flash took some of the color out.
