EKER Vintage Sterling Norwegian ModernistRingThoughtfully packaged& shipped next dayAnna Greta Eker (AGE) was an industrial designer that was originally born inFinland in 1928 and relocated to Norway in the 1950's. She married ErlingChristoffersen, head of the silver department at Norway's Applied Arts Centerof Fredrikstad, and began designing jewelry. Known for her modernist designs, she produced many wonderful sterling silver pieces during the 1960s and '70s.
Thi...s Mid Century (ca1960) Scandinavian ring is exemplary of AnnaGreta Eker's talent! Made of sterling silver, the ring has a bold, Modernist design. A row of raised bars across the face of the ringcreates a striking ridged appearance. A blackened patina rests within eachgroove, accentuating the striped motif perfectly. The band wraps around thefinger, leaving a space at the back where the two ends meet. Stamped inside ofthe ring are several hallmarks, including "925S, " "STERLINGNORWAY, " "AG Eker, " and two small symbols.Condition is excellent preowned.No damage or apparent repairs.Measurements: The ring self-adjusts between a smallest size of 5.5 to a largestsize of 7, but could be resized further if needed. Presently it is sizedto 6.5. The surface of the band measures 1/2" wide, and the ridged designmeasures 1/8" tall.
Condition: The ring is in good condition as pictured. It has beenadored and worn over its lifetime. I have not polished it or cleaned it up as manylike to polish themselves.
