Chinese Archaic Bronze Ritual Amulet Pendent Figure of a Man Sitting on a Blade. Please view photos to make your own assessments. With a loop you can see fibers of the cloth. Originally completely wrapped in a fine woven fabric and the 'green patina' is the metal oxidation that has seeped into wrapping of the fabric from the bronze. As the fabric is also on all areas of the figure I can only summarize it was it that condition when mad...e. The blade shown heavy wears on all edges and has hand grooved channels on both sides with one side being more prominent. Located near place you would put on a handle to have a fighting hatchet. Notice how figure is holding the wire with his right hand, that goes from blade up his back and then wraps around his neck and forms a strap loop. The metal working is very skilled. From a collection as shown in a photo and was described as Chinese. Length is 6 1/2 inches or almost 17 cm and width at blade end 1 7/8 inches or 4.5 cm. Weight is 3.8 oz or 108 grams. Has custom holding stand included. This will be double boxed for a safe journey to it's new home. When possible will combine on shipping.
