This is a "famous" wood carving by J. Vincent AKA, "The fastest knife in the west". He is an Arizona artist who first became known for his carvings of road runners and other western art. This little fellow should date to the decade of the mid-sixties to mid 70's (a nine year period) which is the time he carved thousands of the now famous road runner. In the 80's, his work was mass produced and were no longer signed Vincent.J. Vincent Fitzgerald, a lif...e long AZ resident, began his art career as a wood carver in 1967. From 1979-1989 Fitzgerald designed and produced a line of Western figurines which he supplied to gift shops throughout the West and Southwest.
