Original Description:
Listing for what was once a very high quality Japanese mixed metal plaque with woven copper basket. Still a good piece but priced to sell as the patina appears to have been removed from the plaque and the copper basket may require a little TLC though it displays nicely as-is. Does not appear to be signed. Does not have a hanger for wall display.
SIZE: Basket is 16 by 13 by 2 1/2 inches while the plaque alone is roughly 9 3/8 by 7 inches.
CONDITION: Background of plaque probably had a ...dark brown patina originally,  matching the basket weave. See some bends in the copper basket. Plaque had been loose some years ago and I think I had a metal working friend remount it but could probably be popped loose if you wished to repatinate it as I see no blobs of solder holding it in place. Looks like a few strands of the copper basket hold it in place from the front. Priced to sell as a project as it is not in mint condition. Quality is hopefully evident as the detail of the metalwork is better than many similar items.
