Starrett Hardened toolmakers surface gage. Up for your consideration is classic , hardened , MINT condition toolmakers , universal surface gage from the legendary Athol , Mass. tool company. this is the largest one they make.This is from the World War 2 era is my guess. On the adjustment lever , the original owner it is lightly engraved , O'brien 1945..There is also a custom made , and very professional I might add , hardened and ground , custom radius plate at the front. It ...fits in nice and tight and is removable. He also professionally fabricated a large aluminum knurled know and pressed it on the factory one. It makes adjusting easy. You are getting a 12 and 18 inch spindle. Also included is the scribe.Also included is a beautiful , functioning Lufkin No.199 mechanical indicator with attachments.
