Antique Chinese Embroidered Child's Scholar hat missing tassel . Shipped with USPS Mail. Worn for "good luck" when taking exams, this piece seems to be married- the top is a bit primitive compared to the Forbidden Stitch details on the "tail". I bought this in China at a Flea market and was so taken by the Forbidden Stitch even though it is obviously two different hats sewn together. Chinese culture says that the soul of the person rests in his/her head and... the hat protects the individual.
