for auction is a Vintage Stanley 4 1/2  smooth sole smoothing plane. It is in good plus used condition . It is shop fresh . It is basically as found. I have just wiped the shop dust of the body of the plane. The body has 3 patent dates, two 1902 dates and the April 19, 1910 patent date.  The plane retains 90% of the original japanning.  The plane has no cracks, breaks or repairs.  There are no stress fractures in the throat. The handle and knob are in good solid use...d condition. There are no cracks or repairs to the wood. The blade and chip breaker are in good shape. They have a lite coating of surface rust on them and they will need to be cleaned. The lever cap is in god used condition. It will need some cleaning. The blade is almost full length. It will need to be sharpened. The whole plane has a lite coating of surface rust and will need some cleaning.  Please see pictures for condition. Ask questions before you bid.
