A Vintage 1986(?) Nakamichi BX-100 Two HeadStereo Cassette Tape Deck. Three Motor Transport. Condition overall is almost perfect. No scratches on face frame. The top of casehas very small marks, no dents, no corrosion.. Tapetransport heads were cleaned and the idler wheel has a new rubber and both of thebelts have been changed as well. I have used it for playback with multipletapes from my collection all this holiday weekend and just did a full recording on ablank tape and it soun...ds beautiful. Only ONE caveat…, the “main fader” does nothing, has a red light on it however, it does not affect the output quality nor therecording. So very nice pristinecosmetic and functional condition. *You will receive the cables and the Pink Floyd tapethat you see in the photos. Plus, I made a copy of the owner's manual for you. This Nakamichi BX-100 is a stereo cassettedeck with Dolby B noise reduction, it was first sold by Nakamichi in 1984 witha manufacturer suggested retail price of USD $349 and discontinued 3 yearslater in 1987. The main features of the deck are 2 heads, mechanical 3 digittape counter and memory stop, manual tape type selection and capable ofhandling normal, chrome and metal tapes with additional manual equalizationselection, belt driven single-capstan transport. Typical front loading cassettedeck with the cassette compartment located on the center of the deck. Tapeeject is operated mechanically and the cassette needs to be placed with theside to be played facing forward in the cassette well. Level meters used on the BX-100 are digitalLED peak reading meters. Full-logic transport controls used on the BX-100 letit respond to the slightest finger contact for fast and effortless transportfunction selection. The Dolby-B system reduces tape hiss on tapes recorded onthe BX-100 by as much as 10 dB at the highest frequencies. The 19kHz multiplexpilot signal present in FM stereo broadcasts can cause false triggering of thenoise reduction system. The switchable MPX filter of the BX-100 filters out thepilot signal, and assuring proper Dolby processing of FM stereo programs. Forundisturbed listening a jack connector for a pair of stereo headphones issupplied.
