Graceful Victorian Carved Rosewood Loveseat, Civil War Vintage. Local pickup only - in Ashburn, VA until end of May, then Local pick-up near Cookeville, TN or delivery (fee negotiable) within 150 miles..One of the most graceful and elegant - and surprisingly comfortable - Victorian / Civil War era parlor loveseats you will ever find. The rosewood frame is curved to cradle you. A simple and elegant carved rose design graces the center back, and also the legs and lowe...r frame. This piece dates from the 1850's and is originally from one of the best stores in New York. It has been in my family's "parlor" for several generations, and has been lovingly cared for its entire life. Original finish, and near perfect condition. I had this re-upholstered several years ago in a soft green velvet, with a fully tufted back, as it was when it was new. It would be stunning in a guest room or in a library in an eclectic home! The quality of the wood and the design and carvings, as well as the condition, is exceptional for this price. Sadly, I am now of an age where I am down-sizing, and have no one left in the family to pass it on to.
