Coastal Gnome (https://www.ebay.com/str/coastalgnome) offers for your consideration: A vintage Chalkware Soldier (1SG) Bank In WWII Uniform (aka "Pinks & Greens"). Approximately 11 inches tall, this First Sargeant's (1SG) physique shows the affects of 15+ years of hard soldiering (and likely a bit of drinking and carousing 😉) and he wears the gruff, no nonsense expression every veteran would expect from a hard-bitten senior NCO (Non-Commissionse Officer)!We are guessing tha...t this bank to be from sometime between the mid-1940s to the mid-1950s as:1) this were the heydays of chalkware figures and banks;
2) the uniform the was officially phased out by the US Army in Feb 1958; and
3) We love the idea that this could have been around when our grandparents were still alive and active. 😉Condition is Very Good, Used. There are no breaks or cracks in the plaster and the finish is generally inact, although there are some minor scratches / small chips in the paint.
