Vintage Shooting Jacket with Remington Buttons IsraelDavid Shapiro Baltimore MDThis fine vintage gabardine Abercrombie and Fitch withsuede trim shooting jacket, size 40, was owned by Israel David Shapiro (1916 –2004), former president of United Iron and Metal Co., Inc. in Baltimore, MD. He was a big-game hunter. The buttons are Remington shotgun shellbuttons. One button is missing. The lining of the jacket is satin.Monogrammed “I.D. Shapiro�...� over left breast pocket. Lining is damaged in rightarmhole (photographed). One very smallhole on left shoulder (photographed). Several very small holes on right shoulder (photographed). ¼” cut onright sleeve (photographed). Hems onsleeves and at bottom of jacket appear to be hand done. At bottom of jacket and at bottom of sleeves, lining is hand-sewn to jacket.
