The helmet was a on display at a US NAVY base thats why it has a plate brazed to the inside. The plate is balanced so helmet will sit straight up.The plate is brazed to the inside so you could take the plate out and not harm the helmet.The helmet does has a large dent on the top where sailors had hit the top to ring and stole parts for souvenirs.So the helmet is sold as is. PLEASE CHECK ALL 16 PHOTOS.Helmet is a original NOT A REPRODUCTION WWII US NAVY MARK V DEEP SEA DIVER HELMET.Helmet comes with all the parts and pieces you see in photos. All the hose connections are marked SCHRADE.Helmet still screws on tightly to the base.
